Pic of the Week

Pic of the Week 5-24-10

After posting last weeks pic of the week, I received an email from Andy Hill with some more history regarding the asphalt business, as well as a great pic of his truck. I thought it would make a great pic for 'pic of the week'. Here is the info Andy sent me...

Over the weekend I received an email from Bryan "Bucky" Poole through the HUSKIDRIVE.com contact form. Bucky mentioned that he had some Brockway pics that I may be interested in. He just sent them yesterday and here is one from the collection. Another 700 series with Huskidrive!

Here is Bucky's description...

Here is another pic from the Dom Z. collection. This truck was originally owned by Harvey Sproul and was featured on page 80 of the 1948-1961 Photo Collection. The book notes that it's a 152W model, but I was under the impression it was a 260XW (due to the front fenders, etc.)

Pic of the Week 5-3-10

Last week my Dad was visiting George Marushock and George gave him this picture of his Dad's 257. George's Dad had a garage in Throop, PA and had several wreckers. Here is a pic of the truck before the wrecker was installed. It is believed that the truck originally came from the Kingston Branch and was equipped with a 200 Cummins and a 10sp RR. The truck was later sold to Fowler and Williams. On a side note, the Mack in the background of the pic is a B67 and George actually located the truck a few years ago and was able to buy it back.

Here is a pic of Tony Masone's latest aquisition! It's a '58 128WX with a 40B (?) Continental and a 5 speed fuller (with direct in 5th) Tony found the truck on a potato farm on Long Island.

Good luck with it Tony!
