Pic of the Week 4-14-08
Here are two pictures of a truck that is located only a few miles from my house. It is a 1959 147W that is lettered up as "Boro of Metuchen DPW No. 1" which is located in Middlesex County, NJ. I looked the truck over when the owner originally brought it home a number of years ago. It was just recently advertised in the local "Paper Shop". When I finally called about it, I found out it was not sold and on it's way to the scrap yard. I went to take a look at it and was able to buy the front sheet metal, including the fenders, grill and hood. These parts were nice, but the rest of the truck was extremely rusty. The cab was literally destroyed and the rear quarter windows just about fell off when I tried to open them. When I checked the serial number, I realized it is exactly one digit higher than George Marushock's 147W...
