Pic of the Week 11-23-09
fter seeing the post about the garbage trucks on the train, I spent some time searching Hank's Truck Pictures for other Brockways. I started saving copies of the pics and after an hour or so I had almost 200 pics saved! There are some really great pics on there, so I decided to decided to create a separate folder on http://www.HUSKIDRIVE.com. You can check them out under the Photo Galleries section.
Here is one of my favorite pics from the collection. It's hard to tell if it's a 100 or 200 series but here are a few things I picked up on...
- the fenders look like 100 series (not the typical 260 style fenders)
- the headlights do not have the turnsignals in the trim ring so I'm guessing the fenders are the same vintage as the fenders, maybe pre-50's
- the cab has the gasketed windshield so it is 1954 or later
- the grill is 40's or very early 50's since it still has the crank hole and is not straight across on the bottom
- the hood had been widened, probably to fit a diesel
- a custom stainless visor has been added
- the stock fuel tanks were replaced with round tanks
- obviously the frame has been stretched for the sleeper...
- dual stacks
- etc. etc. etc...
